  12. I saw the same information about Exponential in PowerPC News.  They are 
  13. using mostly Bi-Polar CMOS for their chips (as opposed to conventional 
  14. design, which uses Bi-Polar CMOS only for the most speed-crtical 
  15. portions).  They claim that their new process eliminates the previous 
  16. problems with Bi-CMOS, such as heat dissipation, and allows them to 
  17. mass-produce their chips in much the same way as normal CMOS chips.  They 
  18. claim that this will keep their chips competive in price with other 
  19. PowerPC chips.  They only claimed double the clock rate, not three times; 
  20. and they don't have a license to manufacture the PowerPC chips yet.
